It was fun to make a couple of song parodies in my story, Lost Souls. I think I'll try my hand at another one. Of course, it doesn't help that I've been listing to this in the car while driving to work, either. Since, I can't seem to write anything without some plot to it, I'll frame my pardoy in a little impromptu skit. For reference, bold text means two voices singing.
.
.
.
On the grass at the base of the tree, Dale began tuning his bass guitar while Monty tightened the skins on his drums. The rugged Aussie asked dubiously, "You sure you kin pull this off, mate?"

The red-nosed chipmunk boasted, "You bet! Chip and I used to headline at the Acorn Club before we met all of you. It was great fun and more than paid the bills, too. you just stick to the rhythm I wrote for you, and I"ll follow your lead. Remember the chorus and we'll pull this off swell!"

Meanwhile, up on the branch outside of Ranger Headquarters' front door, Gadget was droning on and on about the wonders of elementary biochemistry. Equations after reactions after precipitants after vaporization points overfilled Foxglove's ears, numbing her brain.

Suddenly, Gadget pointed down at the ground and asked an obviously leading question, "Hey, isn't that Dale?"

The sound of her cutie's name caused Foxy's brain to snap back to reality faster than the speed of light. The shock waves from the her snapping ears seemed to break the sound barrier, if one were to view the situation poetically.

As she looked down to the ground, she exclaimed, "It is Dale! Look, Gadget! Dale's going to serenade me! Isn't he romantic?"

Gadget smirked as she gave the 'thumb's-up' down to Dale on the ground. Apparently, only technobabble is powerful enough to block echolocation. Monty began pounding a fierce beat on the drums while Dale strummed out a moving melody. The red-nosed one began singing with gusto as Monty accompanied him on the chorus.

"She's my Foxy Pie
Cool lady bat
She’s caught my eye
Flies so good
Make a grown moth cry
Sweet Foxy Pie

Yeah
Wow
Heh Heh

Well, flying to the front door
Flying in the park
Flying all night ‘cause
It’s just us after dark
Flyin' to the left and
Flyin' to the right
I think about glidin’
and fly all night, yeah
Yeah, yeah - huh!

Flyin over city hall
Flyin' over banks
I get hugs
and for that I give thanks
Flyin' real fast
Cause she wanted me to chase her
So I climbed up the thermal
And she flew even faster

I fly, you fly,
We all fly with her
Don't try to stop
Cause you just can’t stop her

She's my Foxy Pie
Cool lady bat
She’s caught my eye
Flies so good
Make a grown moth cry
Sweet Foxy Pie

She's my Foxy Pie
Put a smile on your face
Ten miles wide
Looks so good
Bring a tear to your eye
Sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah

Flyin to the drums
Flyin to the boom
Flyin to the bass in the back of my room
Ain't got no sail, ain't got no mast
But we get where were goin if we fly real fast

I fly, you fly,
We all fly with her
Don't try to stop
Cause you just can’t stop her

She's my Foxy Pie
Cool lady bat
She’s caught my eye
Flies so good
Make a grown moth cry
Sweet Foxy Pie

She's my Foxy Pie
Put a smile on your face
Ten miles wide
Looks so good
Bring a tear to your eye
Sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah

Fly it
All night long

Fly it
Hey, hey, Ow!

(I'm a trained professional)

Flyin' through the city
Flyin' on the street
Flyin' so fast
That we crashed and weeped
In walks Gadget
seein’ me all tore
She said, "You ain't gonna fly
with your Foxy no more."

She's my Foxy Pie
Cool lady bat
She’s caught my eye
Flies so good
Make a grown moth cry
Sweet Foxy Pie

She's my Foxy Pie
Put a smile on your face
Ten miles wide
Looks so good
Bring a tear to your eye
Sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah

Sweet Foxy Pie
Yeah! Huh!
Fly it!
"

As the boys finished, Dale asked, "You think she liked it?"

Monty looked up and replied, "Incoming."

Confused, Dale looked up to see his favorite bat approaching at top speed with the biggest grin she ever sported. He was short of breath for the rest of the day.

:D Awesome!! I love it! Especially the back story to it. :D
I wish I knew what song this was, but it's definitely, IHMO, worthy of an Acorn Award. :f-wink:

It's the song, "Cherry Pie", by Warrant. A typical 80's rock band playing a typical 80's song. The original lyrics are a tad risque, but I toned it down for this parody. It's really tough to keep the rhythm of the song going when trying to turn it to a different theme.
